Medical Payments - this insurance provides for the treatment of injuries that are caused by a car accident. Everyone in your vehicle is covered without concern for who is designated the driver at fault. In some cases you may even have money you would have earned during time away from work reimbursed. Check the coverage closely before you decide on this one as it is usually restricted to just the initial treatement suce as the ambulance ride and early part of a hospital stay. If you have good health insurance this may not be necessary.

Gap Insurance - When it comes to collision or comprehensive insurance you are only covered to what is considered fair market value for you car. Particularly if you are financing with a lengthy payment structure or leasing the vehicle you could find yourself owing more than the fair market value. Gap insurance is designed to cover any differences between your debt and the determined market value.

Auto Towing - this covers the expenses incurred when you find yourself needing to tow your vehicle. If you have an AAA or similar membership you will likely not want to sign up for this type of coverage.

Auto Glass - covers you in the event that you need to repair a broken window in your car with a lower deductible or even no deductible. Evaluate your driving habits to decide if this is a good option for you.

Daily Rental - If you need to have a rental vehicle during the time your vehicle is being repaired this insurance will cover the cost if the accident is "covered" under you other insurance policies. In other words, if you don't have comprehensive and a tree falls on your car you will be out of luck. Usually added only when you have both comprehensive and collision.

Roadside Assistance - like towing insurance this is typically covered by a AAA membership or similar car clubs. You will need to evaluate the coverages and costs involved to decide what is best for you but if you take frequent trips outside of city limits this could be an important addition to your insurance plan.
